Stage 2 ’s-Hertogenbosch - Utrecht
The start of the second stage would have taken place in the beautiful historic center of ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
The South Water Line (Zuiderwaterlinie), the Dutch military defense line of the 16th and 17th centuries, would have formed the scene for the first part of this stage. After crossing the major rivers, the peloton would have raced at full speed towards the Grebbeberg, where the first mountain points of La Vuelta 2020 would have been earned. The riders would have continued their route over the Utrechtse Heuvelrug with a magnificent view on the various estates and castles and headed towards Amersfoort. After a loop through the city of Utrecht, the finish line would have been at the Utrecht Science Park. The second stage was 183 km long.
